Getting to know....
...Bob Bielski
Bob Bielski is a Wisconsin native son who settled in the Beaufort area following his service with the U. S. Marine Corps Depot Band at Parris Island. Bob's talents enabled him to serve many roles while in that band. Besides performing the electric bass and the baritone and tenor saxophones, Bob also played the soprano saxophone with the Parris Island USMC band, usually performing the 1st clarinet part upon the soprano sax.
Bob has had experience performing in many bands, groups and shows in the Beaufort Area, from Charleston to Savannah, not only on bass but also on baritone saxophone and occasionally bass clarinet.
Bob has been performing on baritone saxophone with Fred Nimmer's Swingtime Orchestra since within two years after Fred organized it in January of 1988. Naturally, Bob is on both Volume One and Volume Two Swingtime Orchestra CDs which were produced under the direction of Mr. Bob Alberti and which feature many of Mr. Alberti's arrangements.
Bob Bielski's expertise as a sight-reader and his ability to perform and improvise in many different venue and situations, as well as his outstanding professionalism, make him a sought-out performer in the musical world.
