Getting to know.... Tom Dauch
Tom grew up in Hempstead, Long Island, NY. After graduating from Hofstra University, he eventually became Vice President and CEO at Nassau Mutual Fuel Oil Company in Hempstead. He served in the army infranty in Italy and the Philippines and later served as an MP in the Air Force.
Tom and Jan, his wife of 59 years, moved to Hilton Head in 1993. They have 4 children 8 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
He has been very active in the sailing community, and served on the summer Olympic Sailing Committee.He has sailed in many championship regattas, including the Newport to Bermuda race and is a past president of The Low Country Association of Commodores.
As a member of the Computor Club, Tom says he learns new things every day. He is the author of this website.
Musically, Tom was introduced to the clarinet in grammar school, enjoys playing both Dixieland and classical music and has played in the Long Island Symphony Orchestra.
Through our Society he feels that he has played with some of the best musicians in the Lowcountry many of whom he now calls “friend’.
Tom is currently Vice president, Program Director, and Webmaster for the society..
